Customize
You can tailor GuoheView's window title and context menu to your own habits. Go to Settings → Customize; changes take effect immediately without a restart.
Shortcuts can be customized too — see the "Custom shortcuts" section in Viewing & Shortcuts.
Custom window title
By default the window title is GuoheView — file name. If you would like the title bar to show the resolution, file size, or which image in the folder this is, combine them with a title template.
How to edit
- Open Settings → Customize → Window title.
- Below the editor, all variables are listed in groups: File / Location / Size / Time / Browsing. Click a variable to insert it into the editor, or drag it to any position in the editor.
- Type any text between variables as a separator, such as a space,
·,|or-. - The "Preview" below the editor shows the result live, using a sample image.
Clear the editor (or click "Reset to default") to go back to the default title. When no image is open, the title is always GuoheView; while an image is still loading, a temporary hint such as "(Loading original)" is appended to the title.

Details
- Values that aren't available show as empty — you won't see numbers like
0×0or0/0. For example, while the folder is still being counted,{position}is temporarily empty. - Aspect ratio: if it reduces to an integer ratio with both sides at most 99, it is shown like
3:2or16:9; unusual cropped sizes are shown as a decimal ratio like1.85:1. - Print size and DPI: DPI is read from the print resolution stored in the image (EXIF / JFIF). If the image has none, or the value is clearly unreasonable, 72 DPI is used.
{width_cm}/{height_cm}output only the number, so write the unit in the template yourself. - Misspelled variables (such as
{fliename}) are shown as-is in the title, so you can spot and fix them.
Custom context menu
The context menu shown when an image is open can be freely trimmed, extended and reordered, and you can put frequently used actions into submenus of your own.
This only affects the context menu when an image is open. The context menu without an image stays fixed.
Editor layout
Settings → Customize → Context menu has two columns:
- Left column, "Available": actions that are not in the menu yet. "Separator" and "New submenu" always stay here and can be dragged in as often as you like.
- Right column, "Menu": the context menu as it is now, from top to bottom; submenu contents are indented below their submenu.
The default menu already contains every action, so when you first open the editor the left column only has "Separator" and "New submenu". Remove an action on the right and it returns to the left column.
Adding actions
Drag an action from the left column to where you want it on the right. An insertion line shows where it will land; release to drop it. You can also double-click an item in the left column to append it to the end of the menu.
Reordering and submenus
In the right column, hold an item and drag it up or down to reorder. Drag it into the indented area under a submenu to put it in that submenu; drag it out of a submenu to move it back out.
Removing, separators and submenus
- Remove: click the × at the end of an item in the right column, or drag it back to the left column. Removed actions return to the left column and can be added back at any time.
- Separator: drag "Separator" from the left column between two items. When the menu opens, separators at the start, at the end, or next to each other are merged or hidden automatically, so you never get empty gaps.
- New submenu: drag "New submenu" from the left column into the right column, then drag actions under it.
- Rename: select a submenu in the right column, and a "Submenu name" box appears above — just edit it.
- Reset to default: click "Reset to default" below the editor to restore the original menu.
Rules and limits
- Two levels at most: a submenu can only hold actions and separators, not other submenus.
- Each action appears only once: actions already in the menu are not listed in the left column.
- "Open with" and "Collect" are single blocks: their sub-items are generated by the app for the current image (for example, which installed programs can open it), so they can only be moved or removed as a whole — not split up or placed into another submenu.
- "Settings" must stay: it has no × and cannot be dragged back to the left, so you can never lose the way into Settings after editing the menu.
- Items that show or hide based on the current state work as usual, wherever you put them:
- "Fullscreen" and "Borderless mode" change to "Exit fullscreen" and "Exit borderless" while active.
- "Show minimap" only appears after the minimap has been hidden; "Show reading bar" only appears after the reading bar for long images has been hidden.
- "Text recognition" only appears when the OCR plugin is installed and the current image can be recognized.
- If none of the items in a submenu are currently available, the whole submenu is hidden for now.
